Is a French accessibility tagging plattform with detailed information about places to go, accomodation, restaurants, doctors and much more. It is available as an app or via browser. | |
The megafone communities from Geneva and Barcelona show us how many inaccessible places actually exist in our cities by collecting photographs of inaccessible places and barriers and presenting them on an online map. | |

On Wheels app has recently been launched to provide detailed information to wheelchair users about the accessibility of buildings, supermarkets, shops, pubs, restaurants, parking lots etc. It is a crowdsourced app that works for 5 big Flemish cities: Ghent, Antwerp, Hasselt, Kortrijk and Bruges. | |
The Map offers a desktop and a app-based map with accessibility information for Zurich, Switzerland. It includes information about wheelchair accessible accomodation, toilets and parking facilities. | |
Parking Mobility | This app for the U.S. lets you report disability parking violations via an app. This collectively gathered data can be used to educate local authorities about the problem of disability parking spaces misuse. |
Mapaccesible Discapnet | If you are planning to travel to Spain these websites might be interesting. The organizations offer a summary of accessible tourist sites visualised on a map. |
MobileMenschen | The two projects from Switzerland and Germany use the same database as Wheelmap.org (i.e. Openstreetmap.org) and add accessibility and public transport information (like bus or tram lines). |
Südtirol für alle (Italian and German) | Accessibility app and website of the Italian tourism region of South Tyrol with professionally gathered information. It includes accessible accommodation, hikes, cultural activities etc. |
A kickstarter funded app that helps wheelchair users navigate through the New York City subway system. | |

| Is an Austrian research project (2013-2015) that is developing an OSM-based navigation app for wheelchair users. Data gathering will concentrate on the centre of Gleisberg, a small town near Graz, as the project's pilot test area. |
A mobile application that presents different sight-seeing routes for people with visual and hearing impairment as well as wheelchair users in Bonn, Germany. | |
Citizen Reinforcing Open Smart Synergies (CROSS) is a project co-financed by the European Union, which aims to deal with accessibility challenges. Its four pilot cities include Rome, Turin, Manchester and Seville. | |

University of Maryland's project on sidewalks and routing enables users to rate sidewalks by accessibility in Washington. | |
An accessible routing prototype that has been developed by the CAP4Access partner GIScience Group at Heidelberg University. Unfortunately detailed accessibility information is limited to parts of Bonn and Heidelberg, Germany. | |
The EU funded project aims at independent living and societal participation of mobility impaired people. It has started in 2014 and is developing applications with a focus on disabled parking and multiple transport modes. | |
String Box is an App developed by the STRING project (Smart Tourist Routes for Inclusive Groups), which aims to create fully accessible thematic itineraries. People can freely access these routes as well as a variety of proposed activities with experienced guides who can handle the needs of travelers. | |
